After losing mom to suicide, teen stays in college with help of strangers
Thu Jul 10, 2014
In reply to: Marino Green #12 When did your daughter graduate? Financial aid policies change year to year and unless your daughter graduated last year, the situation could be totally different. In addition, there's no way of knowing how YOUR financial situation compares to this young lady's. Finally …
Duggars visit fertility doctor: 'We would love' more children, parents of 19 say
Tue May 20, 2014
If Michelle Duggar doesn't care about her own health and safety (and at age 47, she SHOULD be thinking about that), she should at least think about the risks to the baby. The last two pregnancies resulted in a premature birth and a miscarriage. Maybe God is trying to tell them something!
Teacher suspended for allegedly grabbing kindergartner; video leaves mom in tears
Fri May 16, 2014
In reply to: Georgie Richardson #274 No one is saying the teacher didn't have the right to discipline the child. But in what twisted world does picking up a SIX YEAR OLD CHILD, pushing him up against the wall hard enough that his head was bruised, and shaking him qualify as proper discipline? I …
Empty crib, healing heart: Stranger's unexpected gift helps grieving mom cope
Thu May 15, 2014
This absolutely made me tear up. What a lovely, unselfish thing for that man to do for a grieving mother!
Neighbors want architect's dream home torn down: 'It's devastating'
Thu May 1, 2014
In reply to: nlilcola #151 Except not all of the neighbors do have Victorian houses. According to the article, there are also "shotgun bungalows" (whatever that means, but I assume they're small) and other styles of house. I do think the Historic Development Commission should have sought out mo …
Pastor creates 'boob job' rule for questions about adopted kids
Fri Apr 25, 2014
In reply to: Bill-3405139 #50First, why in the world would a gay man marry a lesbian? Second, why would you think they would have to adopt a child? Lesbian women are perfectly capable of giving birth.
Teen who sued parents accepts college spot
Thu Apr 3, 2014
In reply to: @SaraCampos1972 #129 Anyone who doesn't know that a dollar sign goes BEFORE the number is hardly one of America's great minds. Plus her parents will still have to pony up money for her education. According to the article, per-year costs are over $47,000, and she has a scholarship o …
Radio host rips MLB player for paternity leave, suggests C-section before season
Thu Apr 3, 2014
In reply to: Julie Stutheit #53 Unfortunately, a lot of women DO choose to have C-sections, usually for reasons of vanity. Having had two sections myself, I can't imagine anyone wanting to do it voluntarily!
Jerry Sandusky's wife: Victims 'were manipulated, and they saw money'
Tue Mar 11, 2014
In reply to: dave-1513136 #16.2 No, love is not conditional - but if I knew my husband was molesting children, I would at least urge him to get counselling. If he continued the molestation, and I knew about it, I would have no choice but to report it to the police. Love doesn't mean being blind …
Princeton mom says 'it's all on women' to find husbands, to be in control
Tue Mar 11, 2014
In reply to: steve s #9.2 A typical male chauvinist response. Suppose he divorced her because he was just tired of being married, or wanted to be with someone else? Suppose she divorced him because he was cheating on her? In what warped universe is the divorce all her fault?
